Mayfield Matching Challenge

Double your impact, all donations are being matched.

On December 10, 2021 communities around Mayfield, Kentucky were devastated by the largest tornadoes in U.S. History.

The Lynn and Foster Friess Foundation in collaboration with two local churches is matching donations to help those in need. Our experience from nearly a dozen disaster matching grants is that local churches can most directly impact those in need.

Every gift makes a difference.

Relevant Church

Paducah, KY

Relevant Church has worked together with Mercy Chefs, to ensure the mass distribution of hot meals and supplies in response to the tornado that came through our area on December 10, 2021.

We have successfully served meals not only to tornado survivors, but also to first responders, volunteers, and disaster relief teams all across the state.

The former Lone Oak Middle School has now become the central hub for long-term community support and rehabilitation across our Commonwealth.

Relevant Church, Convoy of Hope, and Mercy Chefs are working together to facilitate the outreach.

This partnership will employ people from within the affected communities, house up to 50 volunteers, as well as facilitate teams that are traveling to aid in tornado clean up, debris removal, and restoration of properties affected.

Hardin Baptist Church

Hardin, KY

Since the devastating tornado ripped through our community, Hardin Baptist Church is hosting hundreds of volunteers daily with Team Rubicon and 8 days of Hope from across the US in our two church campuses.

We have been helping hundreds of families assess their damage, recover personal belongings and begin cleaning up their property.

We have given out money, meals, clothes, Christmas toys, and assisted with motel costs for families who lost their homes.

We will continue to help families with housing, whether in hotels or rented properties.  We will also help many of them with the rebuilding of their homes. Many families did not have insurance policies that will cover all the costs of rebuilding their homes and replacing their personal belongings, HBC will assist many of these families as best we can.

We will continue to assess and vet the needs of the families in our community and we will humbly stand with them as they rebuild their homes and lives!
